Resetting your website to start over
Delete all your sections and pages to start building your wedding website from scratch with fresh demo content.
If you want to completely start over with your website design, you can reset it to remove all sections and pages and begin again with clean demo content.
Warning: Resetting is permanent and cannot be undone. All sections and pages will be deleted.
When to reset your website
Consider resetting if:
You want to try a completely different design direction
You've made changes you can't easily undo
You want to start fresh with new demo content
You're switching to a different template style
Don't reset if you just want to make minor changes - you can edit or delete individual sections instead.
How to reset your website
In the website builder, find the Start over button in the toolbar at the top right
Click Start over
You'll see a confirmation page with the message: "Want to start over? Enter the word RESET below to reset your wedding website. Please note that all sections will be deleted."
Type RESET in the text field (must be all capitals)
Click Continue
Your website resets immediately, removing all sections and pages.
What gets deleted
When you reset your website:
All sections on your homepage and pages are deleted
All pages you created are removed
All content (text, images, custom sections) is cleared
What stays the same
Resetting your website does not affect:
Your account settings
Your wedding details (names, date, location)
Your design settings (colors, fonts, theme)
Your RSVP settings and responses
Your guest list
Your domain and URL
What happens after resetting
After you reset:
Your site loads with fresh demo sections
You start building from a clean slate
The demo content gives you a starting point
You can begin adding and editing sections again
Confirmation required
To prevent accidental resets, you must type "RESET" exactly:
Use all capital letters: RESET
Don't include spaces or punctuation
If you type it incorrectly, you'll see: "Please enter the word 'RESET' to confirm."
Alternatives to resetting
Before resetting, consider these options:
Delete individual sections:
- Click a section to edit it
- Use the delete button to remove it
- Faster than resetting if you only want to remove some content
Delete specific pages:
- Go to the page you want to remove
- Use page settings to delete it
- Keeps your other pages intact
Edit your design:
- Change colors, fonts, and layout in Site settings
- Apply a new theme without losing content
- Faster than starting completely over
Tips
Think carefully before resetting. Once you reset, there's no way to get your content back.
Take screenshots first. If you might want to reference your old design, save screenshots before resetting.
Try editing first. Delete a few sections to see if that solves your problem before doing a full reset.
Reset early if needed. If you're just getting started and don't like your direction, resetting early is easier than extensive editing.
