Editing a section in another language
Learn how to edit the translated version of a section and use auto-translate to update content.
When you have multiple languages on your wedding website, each language has its own independent sections. This article explains how to edit sections in different languages.
Plan requirement: Pro plan
How languages work with sections
When you add a new language to your site, all existing sections are automatically duplicated and translated. After that:
Each language has its own separate sections
Editing a section in one language doesn't affect other languages
You can have completely different content and layouts per language
Editing a section in another language
Go to Website in your main navigation
Select the language you want to edit from the language selector
Click on the section you want to edit
Make your changes
Click Save changes
Your edits only affect that language version.
Using Auto translate (beta)
When editing a section in a non-primary language, you'll see the current language displayed and an Auto translate (beta) button:
Open the section in the language you want to translate
Click Auto translate (beta) to translate the content from your main language
Review the translation carefully
Rewrite in your own words where needed to personalize the content
Save your changes
Auto-translate gives you a starting point, but we recommend always reviewing and personalizing the content. Rewriting in your own words makes your site feel more authentic and ensures the tone matches your wedding style.
Why sections are independent
This design lets you:
Have different information for different audiences
Use different layouts per language
Add sections that only exist in certain languages
Remove sections from specific languages without affecting others
Many couples want different content for different language audiences, so sections aren't linked between languages.
Tips
Personalize your content. Auto-translations are a helpful starting point, but we recommend rewriting content in your own words. This makes your site feel more personal and authentic.
Keep key info consistent. While content can differ, make sure essential details like dates and times are accurate in all languages.
Test each language. Switch between languages on your site to verify everything looks right.
