What happens when a guest can't find their name?

Help guests who can't find themselves in the RSVP system to submit their response.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

Short answer: Check how their name is entered in your guest list - they may be searching differently than how they're listed.

Common reasons this happens

Name spelling or format

  • Listed as "William" but searching "Bill"

  • Listed as "Jennifer Smith" but searching "Jenny"

  • Maiden name vs married name

  • Hyphenated last names

Household issues

  • They're under a household name, not individual

  • Searching for their name but need to search household name

Not on the list

  • They weren't added to your guest list

  • They were accidentally deleted

  • Different email address than expected

How to fix it

  1. Check your guest list - Search for variations of their name

  2. Verify they're added - Add them if they're missing

  3. Check household - Make sure household RSVP is set up correctly

  4. Ask how they're searching - They may need to search differently

What the guest should try

Have them:
- Try their full formal name
- Try just their first name
- Try their household/family name if applicable
- Try without titles (Mr, Mrs, Dr)
- Check spelling carefully

Tips

  • Use flexible name matching if available

  • Add common nicknames to guest profiles

  • Consider how guests think of themselves

  • Test the search yourself with different variations

  • Add guests immediately when they report this issue
