How do I set an exclusive guest list for the ceremony?
Limit who can RSVP to the ceremony while keeping other events open to all guests.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Disable main event attendance, add the ceremony as a new event with an exclusive guest list, and add your other events separately.
Why the main event doesn't support exclusive guest lists
The built-in main event attendance step ("Will you be attending our wedding?") is always shown to every guest on your list. Unlike additional events, it doesn't have an option to restrict it to specific guests.
This means you can't use main event attendance if your ceremony has a smaller guest list than your reception or other events.
How to set it up
Step 1: Create your ceremony as an event with an exclusive guest list
Go to RSVP > Events
Click Add event
Enter the name (e.g., "Wedding Ceremony")
Add date, time, venue, and address
Enable the Exclusive guest list toggle
Go to the Guests tab and select the guests invited to the ceremony
Click Save event
Step 2: Add your other events
Add your reception and any other events. Leave the exclusive guest list toggle off (for all guests) or enable it (for selected guests only) depending on your needs.
Step 3: Disable main event attendance
Click the Our wedding card
Uncheck Collect attendance from guests
Click Save changes
What guests see
Guests invited to the ceremony: They see the ceremony and all other events they're invited to. They RSVP to each one independently.
Guests not invited to the ceremony: They only see the events they're invited to (like the reception). The ceremony doesn't appear on their RSVP form at all.
Example
You have 50 guests for the ceremony and 150 for the reception:
Add event: Ceremony (exclusive guest list, select your 50 guests)
Add event: Reception (for all guests)
Disable main event attendance
The 50 ceremony guests see both events. The other 100 guests only see the reception.
