Using a long text question
Learn how to create a long text RSVP question where guests can write a longer response in a multi-line text area (Standard or Pro plan).
Long text questions give guests a larger text area for more detailed responses. They're ideal when you want guests to write a message, share advice, or provide detailed information.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
When to use long text
Use long text when you want a more detailed, open-ended answer:
Marriage advice - "What's your best piece of marriage advice?"
How we met - "How did you meet us? Share your favorite memory!"
Anniversary suggestions - "What should we do on our first anniversary?"
Long text is better than short text when you're expecting a sentence or more. The multi-line text area gives guests room to write comfortably.
How it appears to guests
Guests see your question with a multi-line text area below it. The text area is taller than a short text field, giving guests visual cues that a longer answer is welcome. They can type freely and the field expands as needed.

Configuration options
Description - Add optional helper text below the question. For advice questions, something like "We'd love to hear your wisdom!" encourages guests to share.
Required - Set whether guests must answer before submitting their RSVP. Consider making long text questions optional since they require more effort from guests.
Per household or per guest - Ask once per household or once per individual guest. Advice or memory questions usually work well per household.
Link to event - Link this question to a specific event if it only applies to certain guests.
Tips
Make it fun and inviting. Long text questions are a chance to get heartfelt responses. Frame questions in an engaging way.
Keep it optional. Writing a longer response takes effort. Making it required might frustrate guests who are in a hurry.
Use this for the guestbook alternative. Some couples use a long text question as a digital guestbook, asking guests to leave a message or wish.
Put it last. Since long text questions take more time to answer, put them at the end of your question list so guests complete the quicker questions first.
