How do I ask questions only to guests who are attending?
Show certain RSVP questions only to guests who confirm they're coming to the wedding or a specific event.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Set the question's Display this question to dropdown to Guests attending. Only guests who confirm attendance will see the question on their RSVP form.
Why you'd want this
Not every question makes sense for every guest. Meal choices, song requests, transportation options, and dietary needs are only relevant for guests who are actually coming. Showing them to guests who already declined clutters the form and pads your summary with empty responses.
How to set it up
Go to RSVP > Questions
Click the question you want to limit (or add a new one)
Find the Display this question to dropdown
Pick Guests attending
Choose which event the question applies to — leave it on Our wedding (main event) for the whole wedding, or pick a specific event like "Reception"
Click Save changes
Now the question only appears for guests who confirm "Attending" on the main wedding (or on the linked event, if you chose one).
What guests see
Guests who select "Attending" - They see the question and can answer it.
Guests who select "Not attending" - They skip the question completely. It doesn't appear on their form.
Guests who haven't responded yet - They'll see the question only after they confirm attendance.
Example: meal choice for reception
Question: "What would you like for dinner?"
Display this question to: Guests attending
Link to event: Reception
Only guests confirmed for the reception will see the meal question. Guests who decline the reception won't be asked.
What about the response summary?
The summary on the questions page reflects the audience automatically. For "Guests attending" questions, the response rate is calculated against confirmed guests only, not your entire guest list.
