How do I create households?
Group guests into households so families and couples can RSVP together and receive shared communications.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Create a household first, then add guests to it, or add existing guests to a household from their guest details page.
What is a household?
A household groups multiple guests who:
- Live at the same address
- Can be addressed together in emails with the [guests] or [household] merge tags
- Will RSVP as a unit (one person can respond for everyone)
Common households include married couples, families with children, and roommates.
Creating a new household
Go to Guests > Households
Click Add household
Enter a household name (usually the family name like "The Smiths")
Add the mailing address if needed
Click Save
Adding guests to a household
When adding a new guest:
1. Click Add guest
2. Fill in their details
3. Click Add to existing household
4. Select the household
5. Click Save
For existing guests:
1. Find the guest in your list
2. Click to edit their details
3. Find the household field
4. Select or create a household
5. Click Save
Tips
Emails go to every guest who has an email address, so to send one email per household, add an email for only one member
Any guest in the household can RSVP for everyone in it: once they find their name, the RSVP form lists every household member

The household address and country appear in your guest and household CSV downloads
Children are usually added to their parents' household
