Changing subdomain
Learn how to change your WedSites subdomain URL that guests use to access your wedding website.
Your WedSites subdomain is the URL your guests use to visit your wedding website (like yournames.wedsites.com). You can change it if you need to.
Every site also has a permanent web address made of three words, like gentle-ivory-peony.wedsites.com. You'll find it in Settings under Your permanent web address. It always works, whatever subdomain you pick, so it's a handy one to share while you're still deciding.
How to change
Go to Settings in your main navigation
Find the Site URL section
Type your subdomain in the field before .wedsites.com (max 63 characters)
Your site will be available at
[subdomain].wedsites.comClick Save changes
If you haven't chosen a subdomain yet, this field is empty and shows your permanent web address as a hint. Leave it empty for as long as you like, or clear it later to go back to that address.
Things to know
Your permanent web address keeps working and forwards guests to your new subdomain
Your old subdomain URL will stop working once you change it
The new subdomain takes effect immediately
Subdomain changes are not available for sandbox accounts
Share the new URL with anyone who had the old one
Tips
Choose something memorable. Your names, your wedding hashtag, or something guests can easily remember and type.
Keep it short. Shorter URLs are easier to share and type.
Update your stationery. If you've already printed the URL on save the dates or invitations, think twice before changing it.
