Switching default language
Learn how to make one of your added languages the new default language for your wedding website.
Your website has a default language. It's the one your site starts in and the one guests see unless they've chosen another. If you built your site in one language but would rather another be the primary one, you can switch the default at any time.

How to switch
Go to Settings > Languages
Click the More (three dots) button next to Add language
Choose Switch default language
Select the language you want to make your new default
Click Switch default language to confirm
Your current default is shown at the top and selected to begin with, so leaving it selected changes nothing. The confirm button only becomes available once you pick a different language.
What happens
The language you chose becomes your site's new default
Your previous default is kept as one of your added languages, so nothing is lost
Guests who were viewing the language you promoted now see it as the default
All your content, translations, and settings move with the switch
Tips
Nothing is deleted. Switching is a swap, not a delete. Your old default becomes a regular language in the list, and you can switch back the same way.
Review your content afterwards. If the language you promoted had any untranslated parts, those keep your previous wording so nothing goes blank. It's worth a quick look to refine anything that reads as mixed.
Check the language settings. After switching, your language name, code, flag, and date format follow the new default. Adjust them under Settings > Languages if anything needs tweaking.
