Setting guest age category
Learn how to categorize guests as Adults, Children, or Infants to help with meal planning, seating arrangements, and venue capacity counts.
Age categories help you keep track of how many adults, children, and infants are coming. This is super useful for meal planning, seating arrangements, and figuring out logistics.
The three age categories
Adult - The default for new guests
Child - Kids who need their own seat and meal
Infant - Babies who likely share a seat with a parent
How to set it
Go to Guests in your main navigation
Click on the guest you want to update
In the Details tab, find the Age dropdown
Select Adult, Child, or Infant
Click Save guest
Why it matters
Your dashboard stats break down guest counts by age category. This helps you:
Know how many adult meals to order vs. kids' meals
Figure out how many high chairs or booster seats you need
Plan your seating arrangements accordingly
Give accurate counts to your venue and caterer
Bulk updating age categories
If you need to update several guests at once (like marking all the little ones in a family as children), select them with the checkboxes, click Edit guests, and change the age for all of them together.
Tips
Set ages early. It's one of those things that's easy to forget but really helpful when you start working with vendors and venues.
Use the filter. You can filter your guest list by age category to see just your adults, children, or infants. Handy when you need to give a count to your caterer.
