How do I show questions only for a specific event?
Link a custom RSVP question to one event (like the reception or rehearsal dinner) so it only appears for guests RSVPing to that event.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: In the question editor, set the event dropdown under Display this question to to the specific event. The question will only show up for guests who are RSVPing to that event.
Why you'd want this
Some questions only apply to one event. Meal choices for the reception don't belong on the ceremony. Dietary requirements for a rehearsal dinner are different from the wedding day meal. Shuttle times for the reception aren't relevant for guests who are only coming to the ceremony. Linking a question to a specific event keeps the form clean and avoids collecting answers you don't need.
How to set it up
Go to RSVP > Questions
Click the question you want to limit (or add a new one)
Under Display this question to, pick the audience (usually Guests attending)
In the second dropdown, pick the event (like "Reception" or "Rehearsal Dinner") instead of Our wedding (main event)
Click Save changes
The question will now only appear on the form when a guest is RSVPing to that event.
What guests see
Guests attending the linked event - They see the question as part of that event's RSVP step.
Guests not attending the linked event - They don't see the question at all.
Guests not invited to the linked event - They don't see the question (they don't see the event in the first place).
How audience works with event-linked questions
When a question is linked to a specific event, the Display this question to audience filter checks the guest's response to that event, not the main wedding. So a question linked to the Reception with audience "Guests attending" will show up for guests who confirmed the reception — even if they declined the main wedding.
This is different from questions left on the main event (where the audience filter uses the main wedding response).
Example: dietary requirements for rehearsal dinner
Question: "Any dietary requirements for the rehearsal dinner?"
Display this question to: Guests attending
Link to event: Rehearsal Dinner
Only guests confirmed for the rehearsal dinner will see this question. Wedding guests who aren't invited to the rehearsal dinner won't see it at all.
Example: shuttle booking for the reception
Question: "Do you need a seat on the shuttle from the hotel to the venue?"
Display this question to: Guests attending
Link to event: Reception
Only guests confirmed for the reception will see this question.
Event links vs. main RSVP
If a guest opens the event's own RSVP link, questions linked to that event will appear on the event form. Questions linked to other events will not.
Tips
Pair with the event's exclusive guest list. If you also restrict the event with an exclusive guest list, only invited guests see it and therefore only they see the linked questions.
Use the "Include general questions" toggle. If you want an event-specific RSVP link to also show your general (non-event) questions, turn on Include general questions in the event's RSVP tab.
Preview with a sample guest. Walk through the RSVP form as a guest who is and isn't invited to the linked event to verify the question only shows up where you expect.
