Adding a wedding event

Learn how to create multiple events like ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners with details, dates, venues, and exclusive guest list restrictions (Standard or Pro plan).

If your wedding has more than one event (like a ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, or brunch the next day), you can add each one so guests can RSVP to specific events.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

How to add an event

  1. Go to RSVP > Events

  2. Click Add event

  3. Fill in the event details

  4. Click Add event

Event details you can set

Name - What the event is called (like "Ceremony", "Reception", "Welcome dinner"). This is the only required field.

Date - When the event takes place.

Time - Start time for the event.

Venue - Where the event is held.

Address - The venue address.

Description - Any additional details guests should know about this event.

Enable RSVPs

Each event has an Enable RSVPs toggle in the header of the event editor. When turned off, the event is hidden from both the main RSVP form and its own event-specific RSVP link. Use this to temporarily pause collecting responses for an event without deleting it.

Display this event to

By default, events are shown to guests who confirm they are attending the main wedding. You can change this with the Display this event to dropdown on the event's RSVP tab:

  • Event guests attending our wedding - Only guests who confirm attendance on the main event step see this event (default).

  • Event guests not attending our wedding - Only guests who decline the main wedding see this event. Useful for optional events like a farewell brunch for out-of-town guests who skip the ceremony.

  • All event guests - Every guest sees this event, regardless of their main wedding response.

This setting only applies when the main event attendance step is turned on. If you've disabled main event attendance, every guest already sees every event they're invited to.

Exclusive guest list

Each event has an Exclusive guest list toggle that controls who can RSVP:

  • Toggle OFF - All wedding guests can RSVP to this event. The listing shows "For all guests."

  • Toggle ON - Only selected guests can RSVP to this event. You choose which specific guests are invited.

When the exclusive guest list is enabled, you'll see a Guests tab where you can select which guests are included.

The exclusive guest list and "Display this event to" work together. The exclusive guest list controls who is invited to the event. The audience dropdown controls which invited guests actually see the event based on their main wedding RSVP.

Tips

Keep it simple. You don't need to add every event. Only add the ones where you need separate headcounts or where the guest list differs.

Use exclusive guest lists for smaller gatherings. Rehearsal dinners and welcome parties often have a smaller guest list. Enable the exclusive guest list toggle and select just the guests who are invited.

Events are automatically sorted by date. Set accurate start dates to ensure the correct order.
