Learn about the different ways guests can identify themselves when RSVPing.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

Short answer: Yes. By default guests look themselves up by first and last name, but you can switch the Find guests by setting to Email address. Guests then look themselves up by email instead of by name.

By default (First and last name), guests RSVP by:
1. Entering their first and last name
2. System finds them in your guest list
3. They complete the RSVP form
​

With Email address selected, guests:
1. Enter their email address
2. System matches it to their guest record (if several guests share that email, the guest picks their name from a list)
3. Proceed with their RSVP

Name lookup is turned off while email lookup is on. The third option, Direct link only, turns off lookup entirely, so guests can only RSVP from their personalized link.

Consider enabling this when:
- Guests have common names
- You have many guests with similar names
- Cultural naming conventions vary
- Guests are unsure how their name is listed

For this to work:
- Guests must have an email in your system
- The email must match the one on your guest list (capitals, accents and extra spaces are ignored)
- Guests without an email address can't find themselves, so they'll need their personalized link
- Guests whose email isn't on your list see a not-found message

If guests can't find themselves by name:
- Check for spelling variations
- Add alternate names/nicknames
- Switch to email lookup instead
- Contact them with their exact name as listed
