Are there limits on how many emails I can send?

Understand WedSites' sending limits and what to do if you need more capacity.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

Short answer: Yes. There are per-account and per-day sending limits to protect email deliverability. Most accounts never reach these limits, and you can request an increase for free if needed.

Why sending limits exist

WedSites sends emails through a shared infrastructure with a carefully maintained sender reputation. Limits protect deliverability for all accounts — including yours — by preventing patterns that could affect how email providers treat everyone's mail.

Per-day and per-account limits

Each account has a daily sending limit (the number of emails you can send in a 24-hour window) and an overall account-level limit. These defaults are set to be generous for typical wedding email volumes — invitations, reminders, and updates to your guest list.

Rate limits

WedSites paces large sends automatically to improve delivery rates. If you're sending to a large list, emails may go out in batches over a short window rather than all at once. You'll see progress in Sending > Tracking as they're delivered.

How bounces affect your sending

A high bounce rate signals that a significant portion of your email addresses are invalid. If your account has a high bounce rate, sending may be temporarily restricted to protect your deliverability. To avoid this:

  • Verify email addresses when collecting them

  • Fix bounced addresses promptly (see Why did my email bounce)

  • Use Collect Details to let guests submit their own email addresses

Requesting a limit increase

If you have a large guest list and expect to hit the daily limit, contact support before your send. The WedSites team can increase your sending limit for free after a quick account review. There's no charge for this — it's a routine request.

To request an increase:

  1. Go to Settings > Account and use the support link, or email support directly

  2. Describe your use case (approximate guest count, planned send date)

  3. The team will review and increase your limit, usually within one business day

Tips

  • Clean your guest list before sending to reduce bounces

  • Send a test email first to spot any issues

  • Schedule large sends in advance so there's time to request a limit increase if needed

  • Monitor the Tracking tab after sending to catch any delivery problems early
