How do plus ones RSVP?
Understand how guests with plus-ones can add their guest's information when they RSVP.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Guests with a +1 enter their plus-one's first and last name on the RSVP form. The plus-one is then added to your guest list as a confirmed guest in the same household.
How plus-one RSVP works
When a guest with a +1 fills out the RSVP:
1. They see their own name and choose whether they're attending
2. If attending, they see "Are you bringing a +1?"
3. They enter their plus-one's first and last name
4. On the details step, they fill in contact details and answer your questions for each person in the household, including the plus-one
5. Both are counted as attending
Setting up plus-ones
To allow a guest to bring someone:
1. Go to Guests and find the guest
2. Click to edit their details
3. Check Add a +1 (use + and − to allow more than one)
4. Click Save
To give every guest a +1, go to RSVP > Form, click Settings, and check Allow +1s.
After they RSVP
Once they add their plus-one:
- The plus-one appears in your guest list as Confirmed, in the same household, list, side and group as the guest who added them, with the note "Added by" and that guest's name
- They're counted in your attendance numbers
- The inviting guest's +1 allowance goes down by one
- You have their name and any responses they provided
Named vs unnamed plus-ones
Unnamed (guest adds during RSVP):
- Guest doesn't know who they're bringing yet
- They add the name when they RSVP
- More flexible but uncertain until they respond
Named (you add beforehand):
- You know who they're bringing
- Add them to the household in advance
- They appear together in the RSVP
Tips
Plus-ones added during RSVP are always placed in the inviting guest's household
Set questions to ask each guest to capture plus-one meals
Review added plus-ones to ensure they're legitimate
