Sharing an event-specific RSVP link

Learn how to share a direct RSVP link or QR code for a single event so guests can respond to just that event without going through the main RSVP form (Standard or Pro plan).

Every event you add gets its own direct RSVP link and QR code. Guests who open the link go straight to the RSVP form for that one event — they don't have to confirm the main wedding first. This is useful for welcome dinners, rehearsal dinners, after-parties, brunches, and any other event where you want collect a response independently.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

Where to find the event RSVP link

  1. Go to RSVP > Events

  2. Click the event you want to share

  3. Go to the RSVP tab

  4. Scroll down to find Event RSVP link and the QR code

Each event has a unique random token in its URL (like yoursite.wedsites.com/rsvp/a3f9b2...) so links can't be guessed or shared between events.

Copy link - Click to copy the link to your clipboard so you can paste it into emails, messages, or invitations.

Download QR code - Download a scannable QR code image to print on inserts, day-of signage, or welcome bags.

How the event-specific form differs from the main RSVP

When a guest opens the event link, they see a stripped-down RSVP form built around just that event:

  • No main wedding attendance step - Guests aren't asked whether they're attending the wedding. They go straight to their event response.

  • Independent from the main wedding - A guest can RSVP to the event regardless of their main wedding status. They can attend the event even if they declined the main wedding, or vice versa.

  • Event-specific questions only - Questions linked to this event show up on the form. Questions tied to other events are skipped.

  • Ticket status is separate - The response is recorded against this event's ticket, not against the main guest status.

  • No A/B list filter - A/B list restrictions from the main RSVP settings don't apply on the event link.

The guest still has to find themselves (by name or direct link, depending on your lookup settings) and the event's exclusive guest list still applies — guests who aren't on the list can't RSVP via the link.

Event-specific form settings

The RSVP tab of the event editor has three toggles that shape the event-specific form:

Enable RSVPs

In the header of the event editor. When off, the event is hidden from both the main form and its own link. Guests who try the link will see a closed notice. Use this to pause an event without deleting it.

Include general questions

Off by default. When on, questions that aren't tied to any specific event will also appear on this event's form. Leave off if you only want event-specific questions to show up. Turn on if you want the event form to collect the same general questions as your main RSVP.

Collect guest details

Off by default. When on, guests are asked for email, phone, address, dietary needs, and an optional message as part of the event RSVP. Leave off for a short, focused form. Turn on if you need those details again (for example, to re-confirm dietary requirements for a specific dinner).

How guests RSVP via the event link

  1. The guest opens the link or scans the QR code

  2. They find themselves by name (or come in pre-identified via a direct link)

  3. If their household has multiple guests, they can RSVP on behalf of the whole household for this event

  4. They select "Attending" or "Not attending" for each guest on the event

  5. Plus-ones and children are included if those options are enabled

  6. If Collect guest details is on, they fill in their details

  7. If the event has questions, they answer them

  8. They land on a confirmation page

A guest's event response does not update their main wedding status. Only the ticket for this event is changed.

Where to use event links

  • Day-of signage - Print the QR code on a welcome sign for the rehearsal dinner or after-party so guests can RSVP on the spot.

  • Email invitations - Include the event link in a separate email for optional events like a Sunday brunch.

  • Text messages - Share the link in a group text for a pre-wedding hangout.

  • Printed inserts - Add the QR code to invitation inserts for side events.

  • Social posts - Post the link in a private group or chat for a casual gathering.

Tips

Use the event link for optional extras. If an event is truly optional or has its own guest list, the event link is the cleanest way to collect responses without cluttering the main RSVP.

Keep the main RSVP for the core events. The main RSVP form is still the best place for the ceremony and reception. Use event links for side events.

Test the link first. Copy the link, open it in an incognito tab, and walk through the flow as a sample guest to make sure everything looks right.

Turn off "Include in main RSVP" if you only want the event link. If an event should only be accessible via its direct link, turn off Include in main RSVP on the RSVP tab so it doesn't also appear on the main form.

Regenerate a link if it leaks. There's no built-in regenerate button, but you can delete the event and re-add it to get a new token.
