Privacy policy overview
A plain-English summary of the WedSites privacy policy: what we collect, why, who we disclose it to, and your rights.
This is a plain-English summary of our privacy policy. If anything here differs from the full policy, the full policy applies.
The short version
We never sell your personal information. Not your account details, not your guest list, not your RSVP responses.
We never use your data to train AI. Your website content, photos, guest list, and RSVPs are never used to train any AI model.
We block AI crawlers from your website. Every wedding website on WedSites tells AI-training crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, and others) that they are not allowed in. This is always on.
Search engines stay out unless you let them in. New websites block search engines by default.
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of them.
Who we are
WedSites is run by Indigosoft Pty Ltd (ACN 613 305 918), as trustee for the Indigo Trust, trading as Wedding Websites (ABN 55 714 015 461), based in Australia. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
What we collect
Depending on how you use WedSites, we collect:
Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, and address
Account and wedding content: your website text, photos, documents, and planner data, plus the guest details and RSVP responses you collect
Device information: device type, IP address, browser, operating system, and location
Usage: how you use WedSites, including pages visited and enquiries you make
Purchases: what you bought and when. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and card details never touch our servers.
You don't have to give us personal information, but without it we can't provide some features. For example, we can't send you RSVP notifications without your email address.
How we use it
To provide WedSites: your website, RSVPs, emails, and planning tools
To take payments and give refunds, and for record keeping and billing
To contact you about your account and important service updates
To send you marketing about WedSites and about third parties we think you'll be interested in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
For analytics, research, and improving WedSites
To comply with the law and resolve disputes
Who we disclose it to
We never sell your personal information. We disclose it only for our business purposes, to:
Service providers we use to run WedSites, such as hosting and data storage, payment processing, email delivery, IT support, design and marketing providers, and advisors
Our employees, contractors, and related entities
Our agents and business partners, and sponsors or promoters of competitions we run
Analytics providers such as Google Analytics
Anyone we transfer our business or assets to
Courts, authorities, and credit reporting agencies if you don't pay for our services
Law enforcement, when legally required, or to establish or defend our legal rights
Some of these parties are outside Australia, including in Japan, the United States, and the Philippines.
AI and your data
We never use your data to train AI. We do use automated tools, including AI, to detect abuse such as phishing and spam sent through WedSites. When an outgoing email is flagged as suspicious, its content may be checked by an AI service. That content is used only to decide whether the email is safe to send, never for training.
Who can see your guest list
Only you and the users you add to your account. Other WedSites customers can't see your data.
Cookies and web beacons
We use our own cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and improve WedSites. We also use third-party cookies, including Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, and cookies that let Google and Facebook show WedSites ads to you on other websites. We use web beacons in some pages and emails to see when they're opened. See our cookie policy.
How we protect it
We use physical, electronic, and management safeguards to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Every WedSites website is served over HTTPS. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.
We review the data we hold every year to decide whether we still need to keep it.
Your rights and controls
In your dashboard, you can:
- Export your guest list, RSVP responses, budget, vendors, payments, and seating as CSV files, or download a copy of your website. See How do I export my data?
- Delete your wedding account from Settings > Account. Your website, guests, RSVPs, and planning data are permanently deleted. See Deleting a wedding account

If you're in the EU or UK, the GDPR also gives you the right to be informed, access your data (free of charge), correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, take it with you, and object to its use, including for automated decision-making. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
